October 2026 Stewart School Newsletter

After a very busy beginning of the year, we are ready for even more exciting events happening at Stewart School this fall. 

It was nice to meet many of you at Back to School Night a few weeks ago.  Thank you to our grade reps and class parents for helping the night run smoothly.

Spirit Week came early again this year and was an amazing success thanks to our dedicated Spirit Week committee.  Congratulations to all of our Spirit Week poster contest winners!  It was fun to see your artwork proudly displayed on Seventh Street.  I hope many of you were able to catch the Homecoming parade and cheer on the football team.   A special thanks to all of the Spirit Week committee members and children who helped decorate our float. 

Stewart Picture Day was also successful because of our PTA volunteers.  Thank you to the Photography Committee for helping our children smile brightly on Picture Day.  Don’t forget to order your school pictures when you receive your child’s proofs.  This important fundraiser supports PTA programs in all of our schools. 

Stewart School will soon be decorated for fall on 10/6 at 9:30am thanks to the efforts of our Stewart Beautification committee.  If you are interested in donating or volunteering to help decorate please email our Beautification Chair, Catherine Griffing at catdio_25@yahoo.com 

Our first Stewart PTA meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 8 at 9:30 AM in the Stewart School cafeteria.  The first meeting is a wonderful reunion of Stewart parents as we embark on a new school year together.   If you are unable to attend in person, a Zoom option will also be available.  The first All Schools PTA meeting of the year is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30PM in the Middle School cafeteria.  

Stewart School will also celebrate Districtwide Unity Day on Wednesday, October 21.  Please encourage your child to wear orange in solidarity with all students of the district.

A reminder that the National PTA Reflections Contest is now open.  This year’s theme is “What My Culture Means To Me.”  Students in all grades and of all abilities are encouraged to explore the theme through one of six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.  Entries are due by November 4 and entry forms can be found on the PTA website.  Please encourage your children to enter!  

Finally, Stewart School is excited to host our first Halloween Parade the morning of Halloween, Friday, October 30.  Parents are invited to attend from 10:30am-11:30am to cheer for their favorite witches, wizards, minions, marvel characters and much more!
