We were very busy at Stewart during November. We honored our Veterans during our Veterans Day Assembly; the 5th Graders visited the DNA Labs, and our 4th Graders explored T.R Sanctuary. Our Third Graders had a memorable performance at their annual Thanksgiving Program.
Students were busy in service learning, so thank you to all our families who contributed to all of our Community Service Activities. The Toys For Tots drive collection this year was amazing and a number of 5th Grade Student representatives delivered the toys to the Marine Corps at Roosevelt Field Mall. We hopefully will make some children very happy this Holiday Season. The Students also donated extra Halloween candy to Candy for Troops and also delivered donations to Healthy Harvest for the Holidays.
As our final Service Learning Activity, Students and families also made crafts to be sold at the Craft Fair in December that will benefit both The Inn and Honor Flight. Thank you to the hard work of our Holiday Craft Committee and all volunteers.
As a part of PARP the PTA sponsored a visit from Author Christopher Sontpiet. The Students were excited to learn about the author and asked many questions. They also enjoyed a visit from the GCHS cast of “A High School Musical”
We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!
