Stewart School Newsletter June 2026
The last month of the school year is upon us, and it’s a busy one as we celebrate another successful year at Stewart School.
This Thursday, June 4, is Field Day for grades 2,3,, and 4 (rain date is Friday June 5). All parents are invited! Please check communications from your classroom teacher and/or class parents for your grade’s time, as well as your class color. Fifth Grade Field Day will take place on Monday June 8. (Rain date is Tuesday June 9.) Who will be this year’s winner, maroon or gray?
On Wednesday , June 10, the Family Fun committee will host our annual Stewart Family Fun Carnival on the Stewart Fields. The event promises to be a blast, with games, snacks, prizes, and fun for all! Second and third graders and their families are invited to participate from 3:45-4:45 p.m.; fourth and fifth graders and their families may attend from 5-6 p.m. Please click on the Sign Up Genius link HERE to donate snacks, supplies, or volunteer to work at one of our carnival booths. We need MANY parent volunteers to make the event a success. Please be generous with your time and talents!
Also, The annual Stewart/Stratford Fifth Grade Pool Party will be held at the Garden City Pool on Thursday, June 18. The Fifth Grade Pool Party is for students only. Thank you to all the parents who donated snacks and drinks for this year’s party. We’re so excited for our fifth graders to have fun in the sun as one big class!
Just a reminder that school will be closed on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. Then, on Monday, June 22, the PTA is sponsoring the Kool Kat Ice Cream truck to come to school and dish out delicious treats to all of our students and staff! What a sweet way to top off the school year.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge our fifth graders, who are leaving Stewart School this year. Whether you are going to the Garden City Middle School or moving on to another school, you will always be an important part of the Stewart School community, and the PTA wishes you luck as you begin your next chapter.
My first year as Stewart Director is coming to a close and I want to give a big thank you to all of my grade reps, class parents, and committee leads that have helped to make this year amazing for all the Stewart School kids. Please be on the lookout over the summer for an email from the PTA on how to volunteer next year. As always you can also email me directly at stewart@gradencitypta.org with any questions.
