Hello Locust Families!
I hope you’ve had a fun filled summer and enjoy these last two weeks before the start of school. I'm excited to serve my 2nd year as Locust School’s PTA Director. We're preparing for the start of school and there are many volunteer opportunities available.
If you’re interested in becoming a Class Parent you can fill out a lottery application here. Parents selected for each class will be contacted just before the start of the school year with more details on getting started.
If you haven't had a chance yet, you can review the Locust PTA committee options and express your interest here. There's something for everyone, whatever your interest, availability and talents! We'll finalize the committees over the next month or so and I will reach out regarding next steps.
Don’t forget to sign up and join the PTA! You can purchase your annual membership here. Your membership supports Locust School and any other Garden City Public School your children attend, whether or not you can volunteer.
We hope to see you at our August events for students to ease into any first day of school jitters.

Class Announcements - Wednesday, August 20th
Log into the parent portal to find your student’s class information.
SEPTA Sponsored Kindergarten Playdate - Tuesday, August 26th at 10:00AM
This event is open to all incoming Kindergarten students to meet fellow classmates. You will gather in class groups in the playground area at Locust School.
PTA Chalk the Walk - Thursday, August 28th at 2:45PM
Students and families are invited to decorate the front walkways of Locust for the first day of school! You can meet at the front doors on Boylston Street. The PTA requests that you please bring your own chalk.
