Locust School Newsletter June 2026
We made it to June! The children are really looking forward to Field Day and our Celebrations of Learning! Each day of June will be something fun for the children. Please refer to the calendar sent out via parent square and sent home for all of the special days! We will say goodbye to our 1st Graders and wish them well as they move on to Stewart School! Please note the date change of the 1st graders Glow Party to Thursday, June 18th. This is a student only event.
The Spring Sing was a great success! Thank you to Mrs. Glickman for all her hard work with the children. The kids loved having their families back to their classrooms after the show for a spring craft.
Our PTA spring Family Fun event, featuring Center for Science Teaching and Learning, will be held on Wednesday, June 17th. Each student is allowed 2 guests for the event (no siblings, please). The event will be held outdoors so please feel free to bring a blanket or chair.
A huge thank you to our 1st Grade Memory Book Chair, Meredith Boysen and the rest of the committee. They have done an amazing job putting together this special memento for our 1st Graders. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your support at the recent vote. The Budget Vote passed!
Though this school year is coming to a close, we’re already thinking about and planning for next year. You will have the opportunity to sign up for various committees at Locust. There are many opportunities to participate! Please be on the lookout for ways to sign up for the 2026-2027 school year. If you have any questions, please reach out.
I wanted to take a moment to thank all of our PTA volunteers. So many of you have donated your time and your resources to make this a fantastic year for our students! A special thank you to all of the class parents, grade representatives and committee chairs. It has been a pleasure getting to know so many of the wonderful Locust families. I am confidently passing the torch to Mary Alaina Burbage, who will serve as the next Locust PTA Director. I wish everyone the very best!
Have a safe and fun summer!
Sincerely,
Lauren Ryan
