 Locust January 2026 Newsletter

Happy 2026, Locust! I hope everyone enjoyed a happy and healthy holiday season!

Winter Concerts were a highlight of December! Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students practiced for months and it showed. Families loved attending the event and sharing in the holiday spirit.

Families were greeted with festive decorations while attending the Winter Concerts. Locust was decorated beautifully for the holiday season thanks to Lindsay Weber, Kristin George and the rest of the Beautification Committee’s fantastic efforts. Thank you to all of the families who donated decorations. 

This month, parents of incoming Kindergarten students are invited to register their children

Many Locust students participated in the PTA Reflections competition. The children are so talented! Our Locust PTA Reflections Committee Chair, Jax Curtin, worked so hard to make the competition successful. Congratulations to our Locust winners:

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the indoor recess bins at Locust.  We had many items purchased to help replenish the bins and keep the children entertained during indoor recess. 

Attention First Grade Parents: The Locust Memory Book is underway! Please send pictures to 

locustmemorybook2526@gmail.com throughout the year as you visit Locust for their events.  Pictures can be from field trips, concerts, craft days etc.  When sending pictures, please make sure there are at least three Locust students in each picture to ensure every child has a chance to be featured.  In the subject line, please write the teacher's name followed by the event name.
