We hope everyone had a fantastic winter break and is excited to welcome the warmer weather which includes more opportunities to spend time outdoors.

Committee Events and Updates
PTA Dinner
Purchase your ticket for the annual PTA Dinner Fundraiser on Wednesday, March 26th, at Garden City Hotel. This year’s theme is Ascending to New Heights. Not only is this event always a fun night, but it also generates money the PTA uses to fund many wonderful things in our school community. Thank you to those who donated towards the grade level raffle baskets and/or provided special auction item donations.
PARP (Pick A Reading Partner)
On Thursday, February 11th, PARP held a virtual visit with “How Grizzly Found Gratitude” author, Dennis Matthews.
PARP Week is March 3rd-7th filled with both at home activities (BINGO card and reading log) and in school activities (door decorating contest) where students and classes can win prizes.
You are invited to join the GC PTA for this year's Pen Pal Project! Students from different Garden City schools will be matched according to grade and will send a written letter to their Pen Pal in the mail. If you would like your child to participate, please complete this form by Monday, March 31st.
Sportswear
The Sportswear Shop is currently open until Friday, April 25th. Pick up will take place on Saturday, June 7th. Keep a look out for emails about an exciting collaboration with GOAT USA!
School Supplies
2025-2026 School Supplies are available for purchase until Saturday, April 12th.
Health and Safety
On Wednesday, February 26th, the Health and Safety Committee organized a special visit for the UPK and Kindergarten classes from local dentist, Dr. Denise Emma, DDS as part of Dental Health Awareness month.
1st Grade Cultural Field Trip
On Wednesday, February 5th, the first graders from Homestead, Hemlock, and Locust saw a performance of The Gruffalo’s Child at the Tilles Center, sponsored by the PTA. Thank you to the parents that chaperoned the event.
Memory Book
Friendly reminder for 1st Grade Families to please send group pictures (ideally 3 or more) from field trips, class crafts, or performances of Homestead students to homesteadmemorybook@gmail.com. In the subject line, please write the teacher’s name followed by the event name.
