Welcome back to school! We are so excited to welcome the Homestead children and staff back! Whether your children will be joining us in person, or participating as a remote learner, we anticipate a wonderful year ahead!
I want to extend a special welcome to our parents and children that are new to the district. We are so excited to have you joining our Homestead community. Homestead really is an amazing place! Should you ever have any questions, please never hesitate to reach out. We are here to help.
For those that joined us in person on the first day of school, we hope you enjoyed the PTA-sponsored welcome signs and balloon decorations out front! We thought this was truly a special first day of school that deserved some extra special decorations. We hope they also helped your children to feel excited about returning to school after such a long period of time away!
Additionally, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Homestead teachers, administrators and staff for their tireless efforts in planning for this upcoming school year. You have all worked so hard this summer to think through every last detail of our children’s school experience. We thank you for all the planning you have done to ensure our children’s health, safety, academic and social experiences are as exceptional as ever. On behalf of all the parents in Garden City, the PTA will be sending our Homestead staff a welcome back/thank you breakfast of individually wrapped bagels and muffins to show our appreciation! We hope they enjoy it!
While this year may look different than years past, the PTA mission is as important as ever. There are still plenty of opportunities to volunteer and help out! If you aren’t sure if you have the time to volunteer, be a member first, and a volunteer second. We appreciate each and every one of our members and hope we can achieve 100% participation in the PTA this year! Click here today to join!
While you are on the website, check out our fall sportswear selections as well. Dress your family in maroon and gray and get ready for some cozy fall weather! See www.gardencitypta.org/sportswear. You can also check out the fall offerings at our cash and carry event at St. Paul’s on Saturday, Sept 12 from 9 AM to 12 PM. Proceeds go directly to the PTA to benefit our students! The online shop will close on Friday, Oct 2, so purchase your sportswear today!
You can also support Homestead by scanning your box top receipts and clipping any remaining box top coupons on your groceries. Please see https://www.boxtops4education.com for more information and to download the app. Physical box tops can be collected and sent to school in your child’s backpack.
Lastly, I want to thank all the parents that volunteered to serve as a class parent this year! You are such an important liaison between the parents and the PTA. We really appreciate you taking the time to serve in this capacity. For those that were not selected, please apply again next year. We do try our best to give everyone who wants to be a class parent an opportunity to do so during their time at Homestead. You will be hearing more from your class parents shortly!
Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com with any questions or concerns.
I wish you all a wonderful September and a great school year ahead!
