Homestead January 2026 Newsletter
HAPPY NEW YEAR HOMESTEAD
I hope everyone had a magical holiday season with their families and is ready to start the new year together.
Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year is between Tuesday, January 20th - Friday, January 30th - please bring all required documents. NOTE: Current UPK students do not need to reregister for kindergarten. If you have any questions, please contact the district registrar at (516) 478-1067 or registrar@gcufsd.net.
UPK Lottery registration is open between Monday, January 26th - Friday, January 30th. Lottery announcements will be emailed by 4:00PM on Wednesday, February 4th.
COMMITTEE UPDATES
Join PARP with Spotlight on the Library at 6:30PM on Wednesday, January 21st at the Garden City Public Library. Flyer with information to come.
Reflections winners have been announced! Homestead had 12 winning submissions with 5 moving onto Nassau County.

Beautification
The Beautification Committee, led by Lindsey Finneran and Lindsay Loos, turned Homestead into a Winter Wonderland! Photos.Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered their time making Homestead beautiful and festive.
DECEMBER
December was a truly magical time with the Winter Concerts that showcased our students and displayed their beautiful artwork. Also, many thanks to everyone who spread the festive cheer and graciously donated to the Toys for Tots Drive.
It was wonderful seeing everyone who attended our first Joint Primary School PTA meeting of the school year on December 2nd. We learned about the E Pledge and heard wonderful updates from our Committees.
