WELCOME TO HOMESTEAD!
We are thrilled to welcome all the Homestead children and staff back this September! A special welcome goes out to our new families joining the district this year, we are so glad to have you with us. Homestead is a truly special place, and we are excited for you to become part of our vibrant community. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We hope you enjoyed the PTA-sponsored balloon decorations that greeted us on the first day of school. It added such a special touch and was a beautiful backdrop to the first day of school pictures. Also, a big thank you to the many children who participated in our “Chalk the Walk” event. The walkways were colorful, and the doorways were welcoming for children on their first day!
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Homestead teachers, administrators, and staff for their tireless work this summer. They have planned every detail to ensure our children’s health, safety, academic, and social experiences are exceptional. We deeply appreciate their dedication and hard work.

The last day to order a Spirit t-shirt is Tuesday, September 11 at 11:59pm. Visit the MACWEAR Teamstore and select the Garden City Spirit Day icon. Use password GCspirit2025 to access the sale page. Shirts will be delivered to your child’s classroom on/about Thursday, September 18th and should be worn on District-wide Spirit Day on Friday, September 19th! Back to School Night (BTSN)

Meet the teachers, staff, and fellow class parents at BTSN. The PTA and SEPTA will have tables in the lobby with information on how you can join and volunteer. Sportswear will also have a table in the lobby with great merchandise for purchase.

JOIN THE PTA
There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and help out with the PTA. If you’re unsure about the time commitment involved to volunteer, consider joining as a member first and volunteering when you can. A special thanks to the parents who have volunteered to be class parents this year. These parents are such an important liaison between the parents and the PTA. We really appreciate your time and commitment to this vital position.
Lastly, we would like to thank all the parents that volunteered for the various Homestead Committees. Your help, creativity, and dedication are vital to the success of our planned activities and events. If you have not signed up yet, there is still time to join a committee.
