 Homestead June 2026 Newsletter

HAPPY JUNE HOMESTEAD

I am amazed at how quickly this year went! We started strong with our celebrations in May with wonderful events like our Spring Sing concerts, PTA Staff Appreciation Luncheon, America’s 250th Birthday Party with our HS students, and the 1st Grade Mother’s Day celebration.

We’ve already started Joyful June and have an entire month full of events, see below for highlights.

Art

We have another art contest opportunity with the Belmont Poster contest with a deadline of Wednesday, June 3rd.

Super Saturday - School Supplies and Sportswear Pickup

If you ordered school supplies and sportswear, they are available for Super Saturday pick up at 9:00AM-12:00PM on Saturday, June 6th at the Middle School Cafe. If you still need to order school supplies, please click this link and use the code GAR054. Limited sportswear merchandise will be also available for purchase.

Field Day

Field Day is set for Friday, June 12th with a rain date of Monday, June 15th. Please send your child to school wearing their class t-shirt and sunscreen. This event is open to Kindergarten and 1st Grade students and class parents running the stations. The PTA will provide Italian Ices for post-field day celebration, please click Field Day Donation SUG for additional items.

End of Year Celebration, Celebration of Learning, and Circle of Dance

The students are so excited for their End of Year Celebrations - please check the calendar or class newsletters for your specific date and time.

On Tuesday, June 16th students will share their Celebration of Learning with their family and our 1st Graders will also hold a special Circle of Dance performance. 

PARP - Book Ninjas

PARP is finishing off the year with Book Ninjas! Book donation bins are available in the lobby from Monday, June 1st-Friday, June 12th and don’t forget to fill out your raffle slip for a chance to win a prize. Book ninjas will hide donated books around town for students to find on Friday, June 19th when there is NO SCHOOL. 

Dr. V Retirement Celebration

Please join us to help honor Dr. V’s amazing legacy at 3:30-6:30PM on Monday, June 22nd. All Dr. V’s students, families, and colleagues past and present are invited to stop by Nassau Haven Park, Colonial Avenue. Details here. Share a memory of Dr. V for her memory book. 

PTA & BOE Budget Vote

Thank you to everyone who voted - the budgets have passed. The students won a dance party with the High School students.

Thank you so much for being a part of the Homestead family. I appreciate everyone who was able to volunteer and/or donate time and resources throughout to make our students’ experience at Homestead memorable. Special thank you to the class parents, grade representatives, and committee chairs. It was such a pleasure getting to know so many wonderful Homestead families. I am thankful to have been part of such a special school and am confidently passing the torch to the next Homestead PTA Director, Jessica Mullins along with the incoming Principal, Mrs. Quezada.
