Happy Spring Homestead,
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and donated for the Beautification Committee’s Spring Decorations. Spring is really blooming around Homestead this season, which is perfect for our students upcoming performances: Wednesday, May 14th - 1st Grade Spring Sing and Thursday, May 15th - Kindergarten Spring Sing.
We look forward to celebrating our staff on Tuesday, May 13th for Homestead’s Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Teachers’ Make the World Go ‘Round. Homestead Staff Appreciation Luncheon Sign Up Genius has all the information and donations links.
We hope to see you at the PTA Family Fun Event with Mad Science on Monday, May 19th (rain date of Wednesday, May 21st).
Friendly reminder in regards to Early Dismissal and School Closures - Wednesday, May 21st is Early Dismissal for Kindergarten @ 12:00PM and UPK @ 11:45AM as well as No School for May 23-26 for Memorial Day Recess.
Also, May is the month for orientations at the school you are zoned for: Incoming Kindergarten Orientation is Wednesday May 21st @ 1:15PM. Incoming 2nd Grade Orientation is on Monday, May 19th @ 6:30PM (parents only) and Thursday, May 22nd @ 9:30AM (students only).

Sportswear
GC GOAT USA Collaboration is here and the pop up shop is open until Friday, May 16th. Don’t forget to submit for the GOAT USA Sticker contest as well, each school has a winner and the winning sticker will be printed for every student.
PARP (Pick A Reading Partner)
For the month of May, PARP will be collecting new and used books for Book Ninjas. These books will be categorized by reading level/age and hidden around town (7th Street, GC parks, and even the GC pool) for students to find and read on Thursday, June 19th. Keep a lookout for information on how you can donate!
PARP had their Pen Pal Project and students sent out their letters to their Hemlock and Locust pals by the end of April.
School Supplies
2025-2026 School Supplies (use code GAR054) are available for purchase (ship to home) until Sunday, July 6th. If you ordered for pick up, those supply packs are available to be picked up at the Middle School Cafeteria on Saturday, June 7th.
Memory Book
Friendly reminder for 1st Grade Families to please send group pictures (ideally 3 or more) from field trips, class crafts, or performances of Homestead students to homesteadmemorybook@gmail.com. In the subject line, please write the teacher’s name followed by the event name.
