HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

It’s hard to believe October is already here! With fall in the air and the school year well underway, I hope everyone has settled into their routines. There is always a lot happening at GCHS, so be sure to check the High School and GCPTA websites and social media regularly for the latest announcements, updates and events.

Our GCPTA High School volunteers have already been busy supporting the school this year. A special thank you to our Photography Volunteers, who helped make Photo Days run so smoothly. We are so grateful to all of our volunteers who continue to give their time to support our students and school community.

Spirit Week & Homecoming

The Trojan Nation painted the town maroon and white as Spirit Week culminated in an incredible Homecoming celebration! This year’s theme, “Trojan Pride: Stars, Stripes & Traditions,” came to life through pep rallies, PTA poster contests, Spirit Day shirts worn across all of our schools, and a wonderful community-wide celebration.

Senior athletes and band members returned to their former schools to lead cheers and announce poster contest winners, while the Garden City PTA Spirit Committee worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create a week filled with energy, tradition and Trojan pride.

A special thank you to all of our High School volunteers who helped create the amazing class-themed parade cars and Senior float. It truly takes a village, and Homecoming was a wonderful example of what makes the Garden City community so special!

Back to School Night & PTA Meeting

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Back to School Night and our first High School PTA meeting of the year. Both were very well attended, and it was wonderful to see so many families engaged and involved.

Reflections

The PTA Reflections program is underway! Students can drop off their entries in the collection box located in the GCHS Main Office.

Categories, entry forms and additional information can be found on the GCPTA Reflections page.

Guidance

All students and families are encouraged to regularly check the GCHS Guidance Office website for important information, deadlines, college visits and upcoming opportunities.

College Visits

College representatives continue to visit GCHS throughout the fall. College visits are listed by date on the Guidance webpage under College Visits. Students can also view the list of upcoming colleges outside the Guidance Office.

Interested juniors should check with Guidance to obtain a signed pass to attend.

Senior Yearbook Dates & Deadlines

• October 16 — Senior Current & Growing Up Photos (Submit online through Yearbook Forever by 11:59 p.m.)
• November 19 — Senior Advertisement Deadline (Half Page: $155 | Full Page: $305 -- submit online through Yearbook Forever by 11:59 p.m.)
• December 18 — Yearbook Order Deadline (Order online through Yearbook Forever by 11:59 p.m.)
• December 18 — Senior Advertisement Late Deadline (late submissions will incur an additional fee)
• December 18 — Personalization Deadline (This is the final day to personalize a yearbook. Yearbooks may still be ordered after this date, but personalization will no longer be available.)
• March 19 — Late Yearbook Order Deadline (Order online through Yearbook Forever by 11:59 p.m.)

Board of Education Meetings

• October 6 — Board of Education Meeting, 8:15 p.m.
• October 20 — Board of Education Meeting, 8:15 p.m.
