What's Happening

Welcome back!

On behalf of the Garden City Parent Teachers Association, I would like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year and introduce myself as your PTA Director for the Garden City High School.

Join Us

Your annual membership covers all the schools your children attend. I hope you will join me in supporting the PTA.  Just like you, PTA has supported your child from the time they entered Garden City Public Schools and continues to support them through their senior year.

You’re Invited - High School PTA Meetings

We are saving a seat for you at our PTA meetings. PTA meetings provide parents with school updates from our principal and teachers, as well as from our guest speakers. The meetings are a great way to meet other parents and learn what is going on in and around school.  I look forward to seeing you there.  This year we are offering two evening meetings and two All-Schools PTA Meetings.  Please see below for a list of this year’s meetings.

  • Friday, September 20 at 9:15am
  • Thursday, October 10 at 7:30pm (All Schools PTA Meeting in MS cafeteria)
  • Wednesday, November 13 (Joint MS/HS) at 7:30pm
  • Thursday, January 23 at 9:15am
  • Monday, March 16 (Joint MS/HS) at 7:30pm
  • Tuesday, May 12 at 7:30pm (All Schools PTA Meeting & Thank You Reception in MS cafeteria)
  • Thursday, May 28 at 9:15am

What’s Happening in September

September is a very busy time; mark your calendars for the following events and activities:

  • Back to School Night  - Back to School Night will be on September 12th at 7pm. As you proceed through your child’s schedule, you will have the opportunity to meet your teachers who will discuss their plans and expectations for the upcoming year.
  • Homecoming - Homecoming will take place on September 21st! We celebrate “big” in Garden City! A week of festivities culminates in a district-wide Spirit Day on Friday, September 20th!
