“May the Fourth Be With You!”
Whether you’re feeling the Force or just trying to keep up with the calendar, it’s hard to believe May is already here! Just four days in, and the high school is already buzzing with activity—with so much more still to come. While the lower grades may be starting to wind down, things at the high school are only picking up speed as we head into a busy and exciting finish to the year—so buckle up… we’re jumping to hyperspace!
Staff Appreciation
Another wonderful day celebrating our incredible staff. Thank you to our PTA Staff Appreciation Chairs, Gina Donovan and Marie Pepicelli, and to all of the high school parents who contributed to this year’s luncheon. A special thank you to Garden City Pizza for providing such a delicious spread.
Concerts
The first High School Concert of the season took place last week, featuring outstanding performances by the Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble. Congratulations to our seniors on their final performance—truly a memorable evening. Looking ahead, HS Spring Concert II – Chorus will take place on May 18, followed by HS Spring Concert III – Orchestra and Symphonic Band on May 20. We encourage everyone to come out and support our incredibly talented students. As a reminder, on May 19, don’t forget to vote and enjoy performances by the Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Band.
National Honor Society
Congratulations to all students inducted into the National Honor Society on April 30. This is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and dedication.
Decision Day
Decision Day was held on May 1 in the Counseling Center. Seniors proudly wore their college and career gear and shared their next steps by completing personalized signs, which are now displayed outside the Counseling Center. The PTA was happy to provide treats throughout the day to help celebrate this exciting milestone.
Woodstick Classic
Trojan Nation showed up in full force, truly embracing the “Black Out the Stands” tradition. It was a fantastic day of community spirit and connection. Congratulations to the JV Girls, JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys on their victories and for making it such a memorable event.
Upcoming Events
The All Schools PTA Meeting and Thank You Reception will take place on May 6. The Spring Fling for 9th and 10th graders is scheduled for May 8, with tickets currently on sale through Student Council. The Best Buddies Walk will be held on May 9. Senior Parent Meeting
Please mark your calendars for an important meeting on May 13 at 7:00 PM in the GCHS Auditorium. Information regarding Prom and Graduation will be shared, and Prom tickets from Skit Night will be raffled off.
Volunteers Needed
We are beginning to plan for the 2026–2027 High School PTA Board. A SignUpGenius will be shared in late May or early June with opportunities to get involved. We encourage everyone to consider participating—there are many ways to contribute.
Warmly,
