It's amazing to think that the holidays are already upon us, and the school year is almost halfway over. As the year is coming to an end, it's a great time to reflect on all that has happened and look forward to what is to come. I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, teachers, staff, and administrators who have worked tirelessly to make this year a success. Your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, and we appreciate all that you do for our children and community.
In November we had our second High School Meeting on November 14th and was virtual. Thank you to Mr. Steingrubner, Ms. Mandi Stefankiewicz, and Ms. Margaux Calemmo for providing us with important High School updates and information on “One School. One Book”. A huge thank you to our guest speaker, Shannon Harrison, Director of International Learning, Adelphi University. We heard about “A Look at the evolving world of Study Abroad Programs”. If you missed our meeting, no worries we have you covered. You can listen to the meeting by clicking this link.
The Guidance Department has created a resource for Parents with useful information to help parents navigate the challenges our teens face. The November issue can be found https://www.smore.com/k9r2t.
Reflections
Thank you to all of the HS students who participated in the National PTA Reflections Contest!! Click here to see the winners.
Congratulations to all of you and to all of the 1st & 2nd place winners who will be moving onto the Nassau County level of competition! The awards ceremony will be held in March and we look forward to celebrating these accomplishments.
The month of December can be hectic with shopping, holiday parties, and family gatherings, but it's also a time to slow down and appreciate the joys of the season. Take some time to relax and enjoy the company of loved ones. Share stories, laughter, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
As we say goodbye to this year, let's welcome the new year with open arms. May it bring happiness, good health, and prosperity to you and your family. Once again, we wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Sincerely,
Zeynep Vitale
