December 2025
A Season of Appreciation and Looking Ahead
As we enter the heart of the holiday season and the midpoint of the school year, it’s a
natural moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate the tremendous work happening
within our school community. The dedication of our parents, teachers, staff, and
administrators is the foundation of every success we celebrate.
We are deeply grateful for your partnership and continued commitment to our
students. Your support strengthens every program, enriches every classroom, and
reinforces the sense of unity that makes Garden City such a special place. With
gratitude for all we have accomplished together, we look forward to the new year with
optimism and excitement.
High School PTA Meeting Recap
Our second High School PTA meeting was held virtually on November 17th. Thank
you to Mr. Steingruebner for sharing important school updates, and to Dawn Denis
from Digital Citizenship for providing an overview of the NOSO (No Social Media)
Campaign and its meaningful impact on our students.
NOSO November
This month, the GCHS PTA and Digital Citizenship launched “NoSo November,” a
digital wellness initiative aimed at helping students and families reflect on screen-time
habits and build healthier balance.
During PE classes, Assistant Principal Connor Cohn guided students in reviewing
their usage and setting personal reduction goals, which were then anonymously
displayed throughout the school. With added statistics, slogans, and parent
discussions, the campaign sparked meaningful awareness and encouraged self-
regulation.
“This initiative was an outstanding success,” said AP Cohn, noting strong student
engagement and eagerness to continue expanding the program next year.

Embracing the Joys of December
December often brings a whirlwind of activity—shopping, celebrations, and family
traditions. Amidst the busyness, we encourage you to pause, reflect, and enjoy the
moments that matter most. Share stories, savor laughter, and create memories that
will stay with you long after the holidays fade.
Looking Ahead to the New Year
As we prepare to welcome a new year, may it bring happiness, good health, and
renewed energy to you and your family. We wish you a joyful holiday season and a
Happy and Healthy New Year!
Warmly,
Donna Kraus
PTA High School Director
