December 2025 Newsletter

Happy December!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is ready for a wonderful holiday season.  I can’t believe 2025 is coming to an end, but I’m invigorated by all the fun we’ve had at the Middle School this fall.  

MS Events 

November was a great month at the Middle School.  Our 7th Grade Party was a huge success.  Thank you to our 7th grade representative Liz Cendan, decor coordinator Alison Kfuri, and all the wonderful parents who volunteered to help out by donating, coordinating and decorating for the event.  Check out this month’s Middle View for photos!  On November 18, we had our virtual PTA Meeting, which featured presentations from Dr. Martine Laventure and Dr. Eric Walter titled Bullying and Inclusions:  What Families Need to Know.  It was a super informative presentation and a great opportunity for parents to reflect on how we can support our children in navigating these challenging middle schools waters.  If you were unable to attend the meeting, we encourage you to watch the recording.  It’s so important that we all take the time to consider our necessary role as parents in creating a safe community for all children.

Please see below for a list of this year’s remaining meetings.  Meetings are a great way to stay current on what is going on at the Middle School and we encourage you to attend.

• January 15th, 9:15 am, in person and zoom.  Garden City’s own Michael Davola and Nadine Wenger will be providing information on supporting parents as they help their children navigate the digital world.  
• February 10, 7:30 pm, All School PTA Meeting, in person at GCMS and via zoom
• March 10, 9:30 am, Joining MS and HS Meeting, location TBD
• April 14, 7 pm, MS PTA Meeting
• May 6, 7:30 pm, All School PTA Meeting, in person at GCMS and via zoom

And keep your eyes peeled for some winter decorating at the Middle School in the coming weeks.  Our beautification committee has been working hard to make the Middle School even more fabulous.

SEPTA News

SEPTA Connect has launched!  SEPTA Connect is an opportunity for veteran parents to be linked to parents just starting the special education journey with their child.  We encourage you to learn more and take advantage of this amazing partnership.  

SEPTA will host its annual fundraiser on February 12, 2026.  Details to come soon!  Stay tuned.
